Technologies at Our Dental Clinic
At MarPark Dental Care, the technology we use allows our dentists to spot the earliest signs of oral health problems that can develop under the gum line, deep within the teeth or between teeth. Early detection means that treatment can be provided before the problem becomes more serious or cause painful symptoms.
These technologies also help us to educate our patients about their oral health and ensure that they are fully informed about their oral health. Monitors in our treatment rooms allow us to display your digital X-rays, point out any oral health problems we find, and walk you through your treatment options.
For patients in need of more extensive restoration work, our dental technology can provide us with essential insights that inform treatment planning for extractions, tooth replacement options and more.
Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays use digital sensors instead of traditional photographic X-ray film. Using this imaging technology, your dentist can produce quick and convenient images of the teeth and gums, as well as other oral structures. This imaging technique offers benefits such as reduced radiation exposure and produces highly detailed images in just minutes.
Panoramic X-Rays
Panoramic X-rays allow your dentist to create a single image of your entire mouth. This image is a flat representation of the teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and the nasal and sinus structures. Panoramic X-rays are particularly useful during the planning stage for dentures and extractions.
VELscope Oral Cancer Screening Device
The VELscope is an oral cancer screening device used by dentists to help identify diseases in the mouth and abnormalities such as cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions. Using fluorescence visualization technology, screenings take just a couple of minutes and can be performed as part of your routine checkup.
